What Is The Medipathways Foundation?

The Medipathways Foundation Programme is a remarkable 1 year course taught in central London at the Birkbeck campus of the University of London. It is approved by the University of Buckingham and successful learners will be granted the Certificate of Medical Foundation Studies. The programme is intended to give both UK and global students the best chance for selection onto BSc programmes at other universities, or for immediate entrance onto the Medipathways 2-year BSc.(Hons) in Biomedical Sciences.

The course offers students a different way into medical and dental schools. Unlike other science access courses, people won’t just study the regular Biology & Chemistry subjects and, instead, can expect to learn about far more advanced subjects such as Pathology, Physiology, Genetics and Pharmacology. The foundation is taught by remarkably gifted instructors in an environment committed to university entry with backing for UCAS, personal statements, work experience, interview planning and UKCAT. The course is taught in the heart of London which is a great opportunity for students wishing to learn in an exciting, vibrant city. Scholars on the course also have access to a wide range of university facilities.

The course will give learners an extremely solid knowledge of medical science. Students will be taught through lectures, one-to-one training, seminars and practical experiments just to name a few. The course highlights incorporate: Biology, Chemistry, Skills in Science, Introduction to Physiology and Anatomy, Introduction to Pharmacology, Introduction to Pathology, Introduction to Genetics, Science and Ethics.

On completion of the course, students can either apply through UCAS onto the first year of a UK university’s BSc degree or are guaranteed a place onto the interesting Medipathways 2 year BSc in Biomedical Sciences. To successfully pass the foundation course, students must achieve 120 credits at level 3.

The Medipathways Foundation costs £13000 for the full 3-term course with both Home and International Students being charged the same. Unfortunately, Student Finance is not available for 2014 entry.

If you are a UK student who has not taken the usual qualifications required for entry onto a medical programme, a well-educated international student or an experienced mature student, this could be the course for you!
